The Senators w/ Rebekah Rolland @ Coconino Center for the Arts Tickets
Feb 1 @ 8:00 pm

Flagstaff Arts Council presents

The Senators
w/ Rebekah Rolland

EP RELEASE SHOW!

*This show was postponed from 9/28/19. All ticket sales for the original date will be honored.

Phoenix-based folk band The Senators recently left the desert to go to the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York, a long-time cultural hotbed of folk art and musicians including The Band, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell. After sending a homemade demo to one of their idols, producer Simone Felice (Felice Brothers, The Lumineers, The Avett Brothers), The Senators were invited to record the album at Simone’s studio – an old converted barn.
The band recently released three tracks from that album as the Promised Land EP, collaborating with acclaimed, Phoenix-based Fortoul Brothers for visuals, and is currently preparing to release their full sophomore album.

The Senators have showcased in major US markets, opened for Phillip Phillips and other national acts, are licensed for overhead play in all N. America Starbucks locations and have been featured on Billboards Next Big Sound charts.

Rolland steps into a new season with Mary / Louise, bookend to her 2018 debut solo release and prelude to upcoming collaborative songwriting project with longtime partner and bandmate, Matt Rolland.

Lauded as “a creature of perpetual musical motion” by the Columbia Tribune, Rolland’s songwriting first took flight in Tucson-based band Run Boy Run, and has since been featured on Spotify’s official “New Roots” playlist and honored by the International Acoustic Music Awards. PopMatters listed her solo debut, Seed & Silo, on its “20 Best Folk Albums of 2018” and Americana UK calls it “a slice of folk perfection.”

Characteristic of some of the most forceful and compelling voices in folk music, her writing succeeds in building worlds of dust and clay, worn pages and weathered pearls, highways and high rises, the faces and hands, the trials and triumphs that make up the stories of the past and the present.

The show will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2019, doors are at 7:30pm and the show will start at 8pm. Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 day of the show. Tickets can be purchased online, in person at Coconino Center for the Arts. All ticket sales are final – no refunds will be issued.

An Evening with George Winston @ Coconino Center for the Arts Tickets
Feb 6 @ 7:30 pm

Greenhouse Productions and the Flagstaff Arts Council present

An Evening with George Winston

George Winston is undeniably a household name. He’s inspired fans and musicians alike with his singular solo acoustic piano songs for more than 40 years while selling 15 million albums. A tireless road warrior playing nearly 100 concerts annually, live performance for Winston is akin to breathing. Winston’s music is evocative, offering us all a chance to take a step back from our perpetually busy lives and let our minds adventurously wander. Restless Wind is a portrayal of Winston’s place in a chaotic world – his compositions extend solace with an idiosyncratic grace.

George Winston’s classic albums, Autumn and December, are perennial favorites, along with Winter into Spring, Summer, 2017’s Spring Carousel – A Cancer Research Benefit, as well as two volumes of the compositions of Vince Guaraldi, two volumes of benefit albums for the Gulf Coast disasters, and six other solo piano albums. He released his 15th solo piano album, Restless Wind, via Dancing Cat Records/RCA Records in 2019. The album is available now at GeorgeWinston.com.

The show will take place on Thursday, February 6, 2019, doors are at 6:30pm and the show will start at 7:30pm. Tickets are tiered $45, $55, or $65 depending on the section. Tickets can be purchased online, in person at Coconino Center for the Arts. All ticket sales are final – no refunds will be issued.

Concert-goers can save on hotel rooms with our partner, Embassy Suites in Flagstaff. Use booking code: ART to save 20% on your next visit to Flagstaff! Visit: tinyurl.com/y8t7rxvy to book today.
